WARM UP

Boxing up a story with Giuliana

King of the Fishes	Plot Pattern	My New Story Plan
Li is a poor fisherman.	Main Character is poor	Ted is a poor toy maker.
Li catches the King of the fishes but chooses to put it back.	MC rescues an animal that is the King or Queen of its kind.	Ted catches the King of the Elves stealing his toys.
The King of the Fishes grants Li 1 wish.	The animal grants the MC one wish.	The King of the Elves grants Ted 1 wish.
Li asks each member of his family what they would wish for. He struggles to decide.	The MC struggles to decide what to wish for.	Ted asked his family what they would wish for. Ted can’t choose a wish.
Li combines three wishes into one and asks the King of the Fishes for his wish.	The MC chooses his wish, asks the creature and his wish is granted.	Ted chooses a wish that includes everyone's wish and it is granted by the King of the Elves.
Everyone is happy. All is well.	The MC is now rich.	Ted is now rich and his family members are happy.

WARM UP

During our lesson we will be focussing on creating a fronted adverbial sentence.

Firstly, we will focus on opening a sentence with a fronted adverbial to add details of where, when and then moving onto how using the '-ly sentence' type.

MAIN ACTIVITY

Work through Pg 13 of 'The King of the Fishes' guidebook and complete the activity set on google classrooms.

WARM UP

Draw your new main character and their three family members.

Write each person's wish in a speech bubble.

Remember that the main character's wish needs to be one wish allowing for all of his family members' wishes to come true.

MAIN ACTIVITY

Rules for Dialogue!

1) Speech Marks go around the words being spoken.

2) New line, new speaker.

3)Speech starts with a capital if it's the start of the speaker's sentence.

4) Speech ends with punctuation

5) A comma goes before speech if it's in the middle of the sentence.

Write up the dialogue from speech bubbles created earlier.
